Abstract: 

Background: Pre-menstrual Syndrome (PMS), refers to a cyclic appearance of somatic and psychiatric symptoms in some women. Finding an effective and safe solution for the treatment of PMS had been always under consideration.The purpose of the present study is to evaluate of the effect of Omega-3 fatty acids on the treatment of PMS.Methods: A randomized double blind controlled trial was performed on 135 eligible women, and finally 120 women finished the study. The women were randomly assigned into two groups. In the case group (Omega-3 group= group A , n=68), Omega-3 in a dose of 2 gram (2 one gram pearls), and in the control group (Placebo group =group B, n=67), 2 placebo pearls which were completely similar to the Omega-3 pearls, were prescribed. Then, the severity and the duration of each of the symptoms were compared in both groups, 1.5 and 3 months after beginning of the treatment. Then statistical analysis was performed using SPSS V. 11. Also, t and Chi2 tests were used for analysis. p value less than 0.05 was considered as significant.Results: There were no significant differences between the two groups according to age, BMI, level of education, and the severity and duration of primary symptoms. Forty five days after the beginning of Omega-3, the mean severity of depression (1.85±0.73 vs. 3.72±0.65, p=0.03), anxiety (1.53± 1.04 vs. 4.07±0.91, p=0.02), lack of concentration (2. 49± 1.26 vs. 5.73±1.34, p= 0.03), and bloating (0.95± 0.15 vs. 2.31± 0.19, p=0.02) in the case group were significantly lower than the control group. Also the duration of depression (4.25±1.02 vs. 7.21±1.32 days, p=0.04) and bloating (5.53±2.27 vs. 8.33±1.04 days, p=0.031) in the case group were less than the control group. Ninety days after the beginning of the treatment, the mean severity of depression (0.95±0.75 vs. 3.43±0.65, p=0.007), anxiety (0.79± 1.04 vs. 3.89±0.91, p=0.004), lack of concentration (1.48±1.26 vs. 5.63±1.34, p=0.009), bloating (0.74±0.15 vs. 2.14±0.19, p= 0.004), nervousness (2.15±0.93 vs. 6.09±0.86, p=0.01), and the duration of depression (2.12±0.25 vs. 7.46±0.02, p=0.01), nervousness (2.04±0.39 vs. 6.33± 1.45, p=0.02), anxiety (4.45±1.02 vs. 8.23±1.94, p=0.03), lack of concentration (2.16±0.26 vs. 5.55±1.02, p=0.02), bloating (3.32± 1.01 vs. 8.38± 2.32, p=0.004), headache (2.12±0.94 vs. 4.28±1.58, p=0.04), breast tenderness (4.35±1.31 vs. 7.85±2.08, p=0.02) were lower in the case group.Conclusion: It seems that Omega-3 fatty acids may reduce the psychiatric symptoms of PMS including depression, nervousness, anxiety, and lack of concentration and also may reduce the somatic symptoms of PMS including bloating, headache and breast tenderness, which these effects are increased by longer duration of treatment.

Abstract: 

Cost and safety are two most important factors involved in the design of civil engineering systems and structures. Thus, the optimal design of structure dimensions is of big importance in order to reduce the cost of construction while meeting the safety requirement and the design constraints. Up to now several algorithms have been developed and used for optimization of different civil engineering problems. One of these algorithms is the particle Swarm Optimization (PSO) which is a swarm intelligence based algorithm inspired by the social behavior of animals such as fish schooling and bird flocking to solve continuous problems. In this paper, an optimization model is developed for the optimal design of flood control systems which contain both detention dam and bottom outlet. The proposed model uses the powerful PSO algorithm as the search engine and The "Transport Module" of "SWMM" as the hydraulic analyzer of the system. The applicability of the model to solve real world problem is verified by the optimal design of of South Pars flood control system which contains both detention dam and bottom outlet. The results show that the proposed optimization model can considerably reduce the total costs of flood control systems.

Abstract: 

Biopolymer based nano-complex is a category of nano-carriers which are produced by interaction between protein and polysaccharide. They can carry hydrophobic nutriciuticals in aqueous solutions and also cause to increase of protection and bioavailability of encapsulated active materials. In this research, gellan-caseinate complexes containing Omega3 were produced by adding gellan solutions to caseinate solutions containing Omega3 and adjusting pH to below of caseinate isoelectric point (pI=4.9). The results of particle size studies by lazar diffractions showed that particle sizes were continues increased with increasing caseinate concentration from 0.1 to 0.5 and 1% and adding gellan gum to caseinate solutions in two level of 0.05 and 0.1 % caused to decrease in size. The smallest particle (385 nanometer) were produced at the level of 0.1 % of gellan and caseinate and at this concentration, more than 50% and 90% of particles had diameter below 372 nm and 1170 nm, respectively. The turbidity increased with increasing gellan concentration from 0.5 to 0.1 which attributed to decreasing of particle size. The rheometry results showed that the lowest viscosity and highest consistency, shear thinning behavior and viscoelastic behavior could be observed at samples containing 0.1% and 0.05 % gellan, respectively. Gas chromatography results showed which increasing caseinate and gellan caused to decrease and increase in encapsulation percent, respectively and the highest level of encapsulation were observed at complex containing 0.1% gellan and 0.1%caseinate.

Abstract: 

In this paper, the possible realization of the electromagnetic (EM) absorber as a thin metasurface is considered. The metasurface is based on establishing a passive surface of electric and magnetic currents using the Huygen’ s principle. So, the absorber is named Huygens Absorber (HA). The metasurface can be designed using split meander lines with spiral rings. In this way, both sides of the substrate must be patterned to obtain electric and magnetic currents. In this paper, it is shown that the currents can be obtained using appropriate cells based on bi-anisotropic media theory. It is shown that to obtain a normal absorber, appropriate Omega particles can be used. It is worth noting that the proposed absorber does not need any lossy material to absorb the waves which is a unique and excellent property of this kind of absorber. It is a thin groundless surface which makes it possible to design a double-sided metasurface.

Abstract: 

Increasing population and food demand, disproportionate cultivation and annual production of various agricultural products with market needs and low productivity of the agricultural sector and the loss of water and soil resources have made it necessary to determine and implement the country's optimal cropping pattern. In this study, due to the limitations and problems of classical methods in order to reduce processing time and improve the quality of solutions, the Multi-Objective Chaotic particle Swarm Optimization was used to determine the optimal cultivation pattern of Sistan plain in optimal conditions and deficit irrigation. The results of the Multi-Objective Chaotic particle Swarm Optimization for the dominant cultures in the region showed that the current cropping pattern of the region is not optimal and with the implementation of the proposed model, the profit per unit area under cultivation will increase. The results of application of deficit irrigation during different growing periods of wheat, barley, alfalfa, sorghum, watermelon and grapes showed that applying deficit irrigation in this plain is not a good strategy and therefore only a full irrigation strategy is recommended. The results of sensitivity analysis of the model showed that at low prices, farmers reaction is less and at higher prices more reaction to price changes and with increasing prices, the program efficiency is lower.

Abstract: 

در این تحقیق مساله بهینه سازی طراحی و بهره برداری از سدهای برقابی با استفاده از الگوریتم بهینه سازی مبتنی بر هوش جمعی (PSO) در دو مساله بهینه سازی طراحی با سیاست بهره برداری معلوم و مساله بهینه سازی توام طراحی و بهره برداری مورد مطالعه قرار گرفته است. در مساله اول متغیرهای ارتفاع نرمال و رقوم حداقل بهره بر داری سد و ظرفیت نیروگاه بعنوان متغیرهای طراحی سیستم مخزن برقابی بهینه سازی می شوند. در مساله دوم متغیرهای ارتفاع نرمال سد، رقوم حداقل بهره برداری و ظرفیت نیروگاه به عنوان متغیرهای طراحی و متغیرهای جریان خروجی از مخزن در هر دوره زمانی به عنوان متغیرهای بهره برداری بصورت توام بهینه سازی می شوند. نتایج مدلهای طراحی بهینه و طراحی و بهره برداری بهینه توام در مطالعه موردی سد بختیاری و در سطح اعتمادپذیری 90% برای تولید بده انرژی قابل استحصال (انرژی مطمئن) حکایت از نزدیکی بسیار زیاد جوابهای دو نوع مساله فوق و به عبارتی عدم تاثیر قابل ملاحظه بهینه سازی متغیرهای بهره برداری دارد. علیرغم آن در شرایط احتساب بزرگی کمبود و زمانی که بزرگی شکستهای رخ داده در دوره های خشک، که در آنها سیستم در تامین بده انرژی مطمئن مورد نیاز ناتوان است، در ساختار مدل های بهینه سازی لحاظ می شود، تفاوت بین مدلهای طراحی بهینه با سیاست بهره بردای معلوم و طراحی و بهره برداری بهینه توام ظهور می نماید. همچنین نتایج نشان می دهد که الگوریتم PSO در شرایط مختلف و انواع مدلهای توسعه یافته از توفیق قابل توجهی در نیل به جوابهای مطلوب برخودارمی باشد.

Abstract: 

In recent years, pseudospectral methods have been used for solving many classes of differential and integral equations due to their high accuracy and rate of convergence. In this paper, we present an efficient Jacobi pseudospectral method for solving a class of fractional delay integral-differential equations. Then, by presenting several lemmas and theorems, we investigate the convergence of the method on space$ L ^ 2 _ {\ Omega {alpha \ alpha, \ beta}} (I) $ and identify the error boundaries.
